PAHRUMP VALLEY WINERY NAMED WINNER FOR NEVADA TOURISM CAMPAIGN

PAHRUMP, Nev. (August 15, 2013) — Pahrump Valley Winery in Pahrump, Nev. has been named one of the top six Nevada state treasures in the “Discover Your Nevada” campaign, presented by the Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT), winning the designation in the Nevada Silver Trails Territory.

“We feel honored to have been named the winner for our territory,” Bill Lokan, owner of the Pahrump Valley Winery, said. “Knowing all those people voted for us means they really enjoy what we have here and that means a lot to us.”

The NCOT campaign aims to highlight Nevada’s “hidden treasures” and educate Nevadans about different places to see in the state to encourage in-state exploration and travel. The contest is divided by the six different tourism territories in the state. The territory winners are:

  • Cowboy Country: The Star Hotel and Basque Restaurant in Elko, which also won in 2012
  • Indian Territory: The Lost City Museum in Overton
  • Las Vegas Territory: The Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas
  • Nevada Silver Trails Territory: Pahrump Valley Winery
  • Pony Express Territory: Nevada Northern Railway in Ely, which also won in 2012
  • Reno-Tahoe Territory: Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park in Minden, which also won in 2012
