15th Annual Social Powwow brings tribes together for dancing, drums and fun
PAHRUMP, Nev. (Nov. 12, 2013) — Celebrate Native American heritage at the Pahrump Social Powwow, Nov. 22 – 24, 2013 at Petrack Park in Pahrump, Nev. With the theme “Honor the Warrior,” this year marks the 15th annual powwow in Pahrump.
This three day event brings together multiple tribes from the surrounding areas including the Western Shoshone, Paiute, Navajo, Sioux, Cherokee, Cree and Blackfoot as well as others. Festivities include dancing competitions, drums and music, authentic Native American fare and more than 30 craft vendors featuring hand-made Native American goods available for purchase. The powwow also has a spiritual side where participants gather to give thanks and veterans are honored.
Special guests at 2013 Social Powwow include the Apache Crown Dancers, Aztec Dancers and Gourd Dancers. Experience beautiful Native American dances and elaborate, colorful regalia throughout the weekend.
